On May 13 2011 the Mentone Grammar Board of Management attended the opening of the recently completed junior school, the new Eblana Learning Centre.

Mentone Grammar received $2million under the Building Education Revolution Primary Schools scheme. Further to this successful submission, the Mentone Grammar Foundation generously donated the titles of the Lucerne Street properties which previously housed residential units. This was a significant donation from the Mentone Grammar Foundation for which the School is extremely grateful.  The overall project will cost $5million.

The new learning centre houses eight classrooms, a multipurpose room, an art room and a music/drama room. The building joins the current Finlay Anderson Building which houses the library.

Construction was completed by Term 3 2010 in readiness for the 2011 school year.

In keeping with Mentone Grammar’s commitment to providing an eco-friendly, sustainable environment for its students, the Eblana Learning Centre boasts numerous sustainable features in a high-tech, comfortable learning environment. This purpose-built Centre features a flow of individual classrooms and specialist areas for cocurricular activities. The Centre easily accommodates the sustained growth of our Eblana population and caters for all its administrative and resource needs.
