A spectacular Bayview Festival 2011

Published: Friday, 2 December 2011

A spectacular showcase of performance and talent was on show at the annual, newly named Bayview Festival 2011. The festival of performing arts included circus, dance, musical theatre, magic, murals, Christmas craft and of course, the popular Festival Cafe had food and refreshments made and served by middle school students. There were also several Food Stalls in the Denyer Courtyard precinct. A Year 8 Learning Journey Experience session was also held for those Year 8 students who chose to go on a separate learning journey during the week.

The week was filled with planning and rehearsing the various student led and designed peformances which culminated in a peforming arts festival in various venues around the school. While students in each area of interest were guided by teachers, the performances were wholly designed by the student teams.

Deb Frizza, Head of Bayview, said, "Congratulations to all students and staff on your amazing performances on Friday evening at the Bayview Festival 2011. Particular thanks to the student group, Festival Organising Committee, for your work with providing the wonderful food and arranging the venues.  Thank you to all the parents and friends who attended the evening to make it such a success."

The performances concluded and were followed by the Bayview 2011 Prize Giving Ceremony in Thorold Hall. Congratulations to all Award recipients.
