Jason Mann comes to Mentone Grammar with over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience in independent schools. Jason studied a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Mathematics at Monash University and a Graduate Diploma of Education at The University of Melbourne. He has also completed further study, graduating from a Master of Education Management in 2003 from The University of Melbourne.

Jason began his teaching career in 2000 at The Knox School as a Senior Mathematics teacher and transitioned to the role of Assistant to the Head of Middle School shortly after. In this role Jason was awarded the first Principals award, The Knox School Young Achiever in recognition of his exceptional service and dedication to the School.

Over the following years Jason taught at both Caulfield Grammar and Haileybury. During his time at Haileybury as the Associate Dean of Evaluation and Structure, Jason implemented structural changes across the school, including a new online reporting system for ELC to Year 12.

In 2012 Jason’s passion for leadership and pastoral care saw him take on a new role as the Head of Senior School at Haileybury’s Berwick campus. During this time the Senior School experienced substantial growth in both student numbers and results, linked to a focus on student personal and academic achievement. He remained in this role until taking up a position with Mentone Grammar as the Head of Frogmore in 2021.

On a personal note, Jason enjoys spending time with his family and playing sport with his two sons. His interests include coaching AFL, Basketball and Cricket as well as playing Basketball, wake boarding and camping.

Jason is passionate about creating a learning experience and environment where students are able to maximise their potential and move beyond school to live happy and rewarding lives. He believes that in order for a student to achieve their personal best they must be surrounded by a strong and supportive community.
