Info Hub

This information hub provides the Mentone Grammar School Community with the latest updates in relation to the School’s management and response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

Recent Announcements

As communicated to families last week, the Premier implemented a priority vaccination program for final year school students (VCE & VCAL), their teachers and VCE exam supervisors and assessors. This includes Years 11 students completing 3/4 subjects. The vaccinations are not mandated and the decision each family makes with regards to vaccinating their child will be respected.

The government program commenced on Tuesday 7 September and will continue until Friday 17 September

How to book an appointment
Eligible students and staff can access priority vaccination appointments for first and second doses. To book an appointment and find a vaccination centre, visit the website or contact the Coronavirus hotline by phoning 1800 434 144.

What to bring to your appointment

• a face mask

• any emails about your vaccination appointment (on your phone or printed)

• photo identification, if you have one, such as a student ID card, passport or driver’s licence

• a Medicare card or Individual Healthcare Identifier number

If you already have a booking, please continue with that booking as planned. When required, students are able to miss a class to attend a vaccination appointment.

The department has also provided Vaccination Information Packs for students and parents.

If you have any questions, please contact the Frogmore Office:

Due to the lockdown extension announced by the Premier until Thursday 23 September, we will continue with off-site learning for the remainder of this term.

We understand the disappointment many will feel and appreciate the impact it may have on the social and emotional wellbeing of our students. Our Mentors, Year Level and House Coordinators are doing an incredible job overseeing the wellbeing needs of students in their care and I, again, encourage students and families to reach out to these people should they need further support.

Essential Services Program
The Essential Services Program will continue for a limited number of students who qualify for the categories of vulnerability or children of authorised workers. If you are not already registered for this program please email Stuart Bainbridge at Please note that strict criteria apply for the allocation of places.

Calendar Updates
As previously communicated, we regret that many events will not be able to run as planned. A team of staff regularly review the calendar and will advise accordingly should an event be cancelled, postponed or conducted online. I can confirm that, unfortunately, key end-of-term events such as Cadet Camp, Year 10 Work Experience and planned House Dinners will not run for Term 3. Specific campus updates will be provided accordingly.
