Each year The Mentonians Association host a lunch with the international students at Mentone Grammar to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This lunch is open to all international students, parents, guardians and/or homestay parents and is held at the School during the lunchtime break.

What a great tradition! The Mentonians' Association host a fabulous barbecue lunch at the School's camp site right on the beach at Shoreham. There's always kids activities including a jumping castle, animal farm, pony rides and Miss Elodie's caravan selling coffee, tea and choc tops! This picnic is open to all of the Mentone Grammar community, and particularly welcomes the new families.

We look forward to hosting the picnic again in 2020! Please click here to book.

In 1923, the School which started with 60 students was made up of Frogmore House, an old church hall and a paddock, which was referred to as the oval. 95 years later, we continue the tradition of celebrating the day Mentone Grammar was founded. Each year, the whole School comes together for an Assembly to celebrate our history and journey so far. A significant Mentonian is invited to join the youngest students of the School and Head Prefects to cut the Founders’ Day cake. The birthday cake is cut by our students using Colonel Weir’s sword. Col. Weir was a significant person in the founding of Mentone Grammar and a distinguished solider. For many years his wife,  Marion, would join us to cut the cake. Amazingly, she did this up until her 101st birthday! Details of the morning tea and Founders' Day service will be posted early in 2020.

The Mentone Grammar Golf Day is an annual tradition amongst the Alumni and greater Mentone Grammar community. This year was no exception. Click here to view the photo gallery!

Details of the 2020 event will be online soon!

Okay, so it's not the most exciting event, but it is a necessity when running a successful Association! We make the best of it, so after the formalities, enjoy canapés and drinks with our members.

The Annual General Meeting will be held in the Greenways Campus at Mentone Grammar, 63 Venice Street, Melbourne on Wednesday 29 July 2020 at 7pm.

The words "Once a Mentonian, always a Mentonian" are never truer than when attending this special lunch. Each year Alumni from the 1940's through to the mid 1970's (and partners) return to Mentone Grammar to enjoy our complimentary Friends of Frogmore Lunch. We have a theme or guest speaker at the lunch, along with good food, good company, nostalgic photographs and the opportunity to share memories with schoolmates and life-long friends.

*Alumni are automatically invited to this luncheon following their 40-year reunion.

Presented by our Cadets and Year 5 & 6 students, The Mentonians Association annually host a Remembrance Day Service on the grounds outside Frogmore House. Remembrance Day gives us an opportunity to stop and remember those men and women who died and suffered in the service of our country. Each year, we especially remember those Mentonians who gave their lives in order that we may live in peace. Click on the Mentone Grammar Roll of Honour to read more.

It's been quiet without you ...

And so we say "Once a Mentonian, always a Mentonian" to our Class of 2018!

Mentonians are most welcome to join the Mentone Grammar School Community for the annual Service of Lessons and Carols held at St Paul’s Cathedral. This traditional and very moving Service includes several Christmas hymns played on the Cathedral’s very fine pipe organ (built in 1890, by T.C. Lewis, Brixton, London) by Mr Lewis Plumridge (1963),  Director of Music at Mentone Grammar from 1982-2008.
