Mentone Grammar celebrates the ‘Class of 2021’ for their outstanding achievements

Resilience is one of our seven School Values and has long been a foundation of the well-rounded skillset we endeavour to develop in our students during their time at school. However, over their two-year VCE journey, the graduating ‘Class of 2021’ has been required to call upon this strength more than anyone could have expected – and they have.

Mentone Grammar Principal, Mal Cater, said he is incredibly proud of what they have achieved, despite all they have been through with the pandemic.

“Now is a time for celebration and to applaud these incredible young people for their commitment and resilience throughout their VCE years.

“Not only did they adapt to a constantly changing landscape, they also banded together in the most incredible show of solidarity to support one another and become stronger in the face of adversity.”

Together, the Mentone Grammar ‘Class of 2021’ achieved the below outstanding results:

  • Median ATAR 85
  • 59% ATARs over 80
  • 37% ATARs over 90
  • 15% ATARs over 95
  • 6 Study Scores over 50
  • Median Study Score 34
  • Dux – Joseph Shim (99.75)
  • 100% VCAL Completion

The cohort also celebrated:

  • Involvement in Drama, Dance, Music, Art, Public Speaking, Debating and Social Service programs
  • Two students being recruited to teams in the Australian Football League: Jacob Edwards (North Melbourne Football Club) and Mitch Owens (St Kilda Football Club)
  • A Bond Vice Chancellor Scholarship
  • A Melbourne University Principals' Scholarship
  • And many, many more personal achievements across a wide range of areas

We wish our ‘Class of 2021’ every success in the future and remind them that they will always be a special part of our Community.
