Premier’s Spirit of Anzac Prize 2023

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Alexander L (Year 11) for being awarded the esteemed Premier’s Spirit of Anzac Prize for 2023.

This prestigious program grants Victorian students in Years 9, 10, and 11 the invaluable chance to delve into Australia’s rich war and peacekeeping history. In the coming year, Alexander will embark on an extraordinary journey to Türkiye, retracing the footsteps of the ANZAC soldiers.

Alexander’s submission for the prize was a musical entry, where he showcased his talent on the bass guitar and composed a captivating piece of music. “My motivation for entering the Anzac prize stemmed from my connection to my ancestors, who served as ANZACs. I wanted to honour them by winning this competition. In my submission, I explored the enduring themes of the spirit of the ANZACs and its relevance in our lives today.”

When asked about his thoughts on the upcoming trip, Alexander expressed his utmost excitement for the incredible learning opportunities that await him. “I am most excited about finding out more about Türkiye’s vibrant culture, and gaining a deeper understanding of its significance in the ANZAC story,” he said.

Once again, we extend our warmest congratulations to Alexander for this honorable achievement. Well done!
