ELC drop-off and pick-up
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and families, we have made some important changes to the student drop-off and pick-up process for the ELC.
These procedures will take effect from Monday 23 March 2026.
Please see information below about ELC access and waiting areas, exiting the ELC, road safety around the ELC and parent/carer responsibilities with regards to child supervision at drop-off and pick-up.
ELC Start Time
- ELC opens at 8.45am for a 9.00am start
We ask families not to arrive at the ELC before 8.45am unless accessing Morning Care.
Morning Care
Families who require care earlier than 8.45am may use Morning Care which operates from 8.00am with supervision provided by ELC staff.
- Location: MJ07 | 8:00 – 8.45am
- Cost: $5.00 flat rate payable on the day by card – no cash payments
- Bookings: No advance bookings accepted
Parent/Carer Supervision Responsibilities
- Parents/carers have a duty of care and are responsible for supervising their children before they are signed into the ELC and as soon as they have been signed out.
- Our ELC encourages a ‘kind hands’ approach, supporting safe, gentle and respectful play for all students. We ask parents/carers to support this approach at all times when on School grounds.
- We also remind families that all students and parents/carers are expected to adhere to our Codes of Conduct at all times.
ELC Access & Waiting Areas
Please do not arrive at the ELC before 8.45am unless accessing Morning Care.
To support families who are dropping off/collecting siblings from other campuses with different start/finish times, families must wait in one of the following locations:
- Naples Green & Shade Shelter (grassed play space and undercover structure)
- Avenue of Honour (Lucerne Street – undercover area)
Parents/carers and ELC students must not wait in the Junior School Playground at any time (families in this space will be directed to the Naples Road Shade Shelter).
Exiting the ELC
Parents/carers collecting their children at 3.00pm must adhere to the following:
- Exit ELC via Gate 9 ONLY (main ELC gate on Naples Road)
- If you are waiting for siblings in the Naples Green & Shade Shelter, please re-enter the School grounds via Gate 12 (next to undercover basketball courts)
- If you are waiting for siblings at the Avenue of Honour, please exit ELC and walk around to Lucerne Street – do not go via the Junior School Playground.
Parents/carers are to depart the School grounds immediately once all children have been dropped off and/or collected.
Parents/carers or family members who breach these conditions will be requested to wait outside the School boundary when collecting their children.
Road Safety Around the ELC
We understand that drop-off and pick-up times can be particularly busy, with many families arriving at the same time. To ensure the safety of our students at all times, and to support us in working positively with our neighbours and the local council, we ask all families to adhere to the following:
- Please do not park across any of our neighbour driveways and only use designated parking spaces around the School
- Do not use staff car parks during the school day
- Observe road rules and parking restrictions at all times
