Age Requirements and Entry Regulations

  • Three full-time classes (Monday–Friday, 9.00am–3.00pm) – five days
  • As we are not registered as a “long day care provider”, the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is not available for this program.
  • Children must have turned three by the 31st of January of the proposed commencement year.
  • Children must be toilet trained prior to the commencement of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten.
  • Lifer pathway into Foundation (Prep). $1000 non-refundable, non-transferable Foundation (Prep) Holding Fee. Fee will be deducted from Semester 1 Foundation (Prep) fees if your child commences in Foundation (Prep).

For entry into Pre-Prep, children must have turned four by the 30 April of the proposed commencement year.

NOTE: Entry into Pre-Prep (ELC 4) is generally only possible if a current or enrolled student withdraws. Due to cohort sizes, this occurs infrequently. Any place that becomes available would be offered in accordance with date and time of registration and any applicable priority points.

If your child is currently attending a 4-year-old funded pre-school year elsewhere and you are requesting a second Pre-Prep year at Mentone Grammar, please contact us for more information.

NOTE: A place in Pre-Prep does not automatically guarantee a place in Foundation the following year.

Please note that under the State Government’s ‘No Jab, No Play’ legislation, the ELC is unable to provide enrolment without proof of up-to-date vaccinations. You must provide the School with an Immunisation History Statement that shows your child is:

  • up to date with vaccinations for their age OR
  • up to date with a vaccine catch-up schedule OR
  • has a medical condition preventing them from being fully vaccinated.
