Mentone Grammar

This Jukurrpa belongs to women of the Nakamarra / Napurrurla subsections and to Jakamarra / Jupurrurla men.

This painting depicts Nakamarra and Napurrurla women hunting for bush foods.

The ‘kirda’ (owners) of the ‘wati-jarra Jukurrpa’ (two men Dreaming) are Japaljarri/Jungarrayi men and Napaljarri/Nungarrayi women. This painting depicts the journey of a father and son performing initiation ceremonies.

Aunty Vera’s artwork symbolises the deep connections forged between Mentone Grammar and Lilla.
